Throughout the game, Chai battles opponents by pressing attacks in time to the soundtrack. The game follows Chai, a human with a surgically grafted music player and robot arm. Hi-Fi Rush was directed by John Johanas and released on January 25th, 2023, the same day it was announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct.
